“I sort of knew what the end result should look like but until I started with Thrive Optimal Human Performance, I knew I couldn’t fit all the pieces of the jigsaw together on my own.
I started training with Thrive OHP as I felt that I wanted to lose some weight and become fitter to allow me to compete better in my hockey, yet probably wasn’t focusing enough on the whole package and looked at training solely in isolation.
I personally appreciate the whole experience. Working with Thrive OHP has made me take greater ownership of not purely the training I do, but also the nutritional side of things as well.
Previously, I would train and eat and not pay too much attention to either, but now I am more conscious of what I eat without having made any drastic changes to my daily intake.
I have now been consistently training for two-three years and like the routine and balance of my normal week and would miss the physical challenge of the strength sessions if they weren’t there!
The coaches meticulously planned my training to accommodate my needs. I relish the challenge of the sessions, having never previously attempted to use free weights or Olympic lifts.
Incorporating these into my sessions on a regular basis has vastly improved my ability to handle the rigours of, not just a hockey season but also work and life stress too.
Since training with Thrive Optimal Human Performance and as someone who relishes a physical challenge I have pushed myself further than I would have considered possible, compared to if I had continued training on my own. I now have the confidence to train differently and I like the challenge of a new programme!

The progressions to training are staged and monitored so you aren’t likely to get bored and lose focus. Plus the manner in which the sessions are conducted is both friendly and supportive, whilst still challenging!”
